Advanced Diploma in Critical Care Nursing
Critical care nursing is the field of nursing with a focus on the utmost care of the critically ill or unstable patients. Critical care nurses can be found working in a wide variety of environments and specialties, such as emergency departments and the intensive care units.
The Advanced Diploma Critical Care Course provides both novice and expert nurses with a comprehensive, yet concise and easy method of learning to effectively plan and implement nursing care.
Students will be given fair exposure of the pathophysiology, assessment, diagnostic testing, collaborative management, nursing diagnoses, and nursing interventions specific to those diagnoses and patient teaching and rehabilitation. In addition to updating the information to keep pace with current practice in critical care, the course also includes the emerging infections, bioterrorism, high risk obstetrics patients, and research and Evidenced Based Practice, suggesting Nursing Intervention Classification (NIC) interventions following the current interventions for each nursing diagnosis, new medications used to mange anticoagulation and fibro analysis, plus recent data regarding evaluation of alternatives care, new cardiac support devices, new mechanical ventilation, redesigned care plans to meet new content and management of patients in critical care.
